Birm® - is an efficient & economical filter media used for reduction of dissolved iron & manganese compounds from raw water. Birm® acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen & iron compounds. The dissolved iron is usually in ferrous bicarbonate state due to excess of free carbon dioxide and is not filterable. Birm® enhances the oxidation of Fe++ to Fe+++ and produces Ferric Oxide which precipitates and is easily filtered. The physical characteristics of Birm® provide an excellent filter media which is easily cleaned by periodic backwashing to remove the precipitants. Birm® unlike other conventional iron removal medias does not require chemicals for regeneration, thereby reducing the running cost. Birm® is also not consumed in iron removal operation and therefore offers a tremendous economic advantage over many other iron removal methods. Birm® has a long material life with a low attrition loss and extremely high removal efficiency in comparison to other iron removal medias.

CALCITE - CLACK CORPORATION USA
Calcite is a nuturally occuring media which is used to neutralize acidic or low pH waters to a neutral, less corrosive effluent. One of the advantages of Calcite is its self-limiting property. When properly applied, it corrects pH only enough to reach a non - corrosive equilibrium. It does not overreact under normal conditions. Upon contact with Calcite, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in tyical plumbing systems. Periodic backwashing will prevent packing. reclassify the bed and maintain high service rates. depending on pH, water chemistry and service flow, the Calcite bed will have to be periodically replenshid as the Calcite is depleted.

GARNET - CLACK CORPORATION USA
Garnet is a high hardness, high density granular filter media. It is normally used as the lower (final) filtration of a multi media bed down flow filtration system. Also called as the Multi - Media or Mixed Media filtration, the high density, small grain size of Clack #30-40 Garnet solves major filtration problems. multi-Media filtration technology is applicable to both water and waste water treatment.
ADVANTAGES
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC): is a unique and effective process for separation & purification and has been used in areas like food, pharma, sugar, chemical, other processing industries & purification of potable water.
Nature of Applications
How activated carbon works
Due to its huge surface area and specific surface chemistry, activated carbon can adsorb large quantities of organic pollutants from water. The compounds are adsorbed into the internal pores. A general rule of thumb about the adsorbability is the more hydrophobic (or less soluble in water), the more adsorbable the compound. To obtain maximum efficiency of activated carbon in the adsorbtion process . It is desirable to have the gratest possible surface area in the smallest practical volume.
We are holding and supplying large stocks of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) manufactured by NORIT Nederland B.V. and Adsorbent Carbons Ltd. (a 100% export oriented unit)
Anthracite Filter Media is thoroughly selected from anthracite which yields the highest percentage of carbon. It is then hydraulically classified to reduce mineral matter and ash to a minimum, and finally screened and washed to ensure suitability for filtration purposes. Crushed anthracite makes an excellent medium density filtration media. Anthracite is prepared from fine coal and because of its unique density, it is ideal for single bed, dual bed or multi-media filtration systems and this unique density allows it to remain above heavier media.
REGULAR GRADE ANTHRACITE FILTER MEDIA
REGULAR GRADE, is an Anthracite, which can be used in filter media in open and closed filters for water and waste – water treatment. It will hydraulically classify and remain above heavier media such as Sand, Manganese, Green Sand etc. Its regular shape is suitable for single and multi – layer filtration and ensures penetration of sediment deeper into the bed when
compared to equivalent Sand filters. Its low density in wet condition enables low backwash rate.

Filter sand is an extremely effective filter media because of its ability to hold back coagulum or precipitates containing impurities. Filter sand size, angularity and hardness are the important filter sand characteristics to ensure proper filtering. Filter sand is triple washed in manufacturing process producing a squeaky clean filter sand that is virtually silt and fines free. Initial backwash cycles are reduced as well, saving significant amounts of time and water in your start-up backwash cycle. Filter sand can be used in municipal, industrial or residential applications. The spherical shape of uncrushed gravel promotes good flow and even distribution. Low soluble impurities limit undesirable mineral leaching into the process stream. All standard sizes for filter sand, gravel and support pebbles are available with us.
